Swamped with your writing assignments? Take the weight off your shoulder!
Examine the two executive summaries below and then recommend one of them for adoption as a solid example in how to introduce a proposed campaign for safer driving in the state. Submit your review as you would an email of three focused paragraphs. Be direct and offer substantive points of support for your recommendation. In the first paragraph, make a clear choice and note how/why it works best here. Then, in the second paragraph, develop specific points of support for your recommendation (i.e., how it presents the project’s values and focus, connects to its perspective audience, etc.). Finally, in the third paragraph, offer a possible point of editing or improvement for your choice (i.e., something that should also be addressed within it, editing towards clarity and conciseness within the writing, the document’s organization, etc.). For focus, note that you aren’t simply critiquing the ideas or plans themselves, but how they are articulated and presented in the focus of the executive summary.
